DELIVERY POLICY
Last updated January 5, 2026

Moving Boundaries offers educational services in the form of intensive ten-day programs in Japan, in August and October 2026. Services will be delivered from 2 August to 11 August 2026, and again from 11 October to 20 October 2026, in Japan.

Services include: all lectures; roundtable discussions; Q&A sessions; several (not all) selected tours/visits; social events with faculty and other parts of the full academic program. Tuition also covers one Welcome Lunch for all, the Certificate of Completion at the end of the course, and a variety of resources at the end of the course (lecture files, recordings, abstracts brochures, multimedia resources and bibliographies, reading lists from faculty, etc.) Services do not include payments for architecture tours which are charged by independent providers (although MB will coordinate these tours and will book them, for all). Services do not include travel arrangements nor expenses, such as meals, air/train travel, hotels, etc.

Participants agree that the arrangements and expenses for travel, lodging, visa or passport expenses, car rental and/or car hire, and meals are their responsibility, including travel to Japan, and every fee for hotel (or Airbnb) reservation and accommodation, including incidentals and any damages. In addition, optional "add-ons" may be offered.
Delivery of educational services is the sole responsibility of Moving Boundaries, which includes inviting the teaching faculty, organizing the schedule and curriculum of the course, securing teaching facilities, providing a Certificate of Completion to each participant, providing post-program free resources such as lecture files and recordings, and selecting the manner of presentation of educational materials.

While the dates and location of the course will not change, the schedule of planned activities and composition of the faculty are subject to change. Accordingly, Moving Boundaries is entitled to modify the order of lecture and topics, faculty roster, and the content of the course mentioned herein, which, if it occurs, will be communicated to participants by email. MB is also entitled to modify the format of participation by faculty, from on-site to remote, and vice versa, if this becomes necessary (in most cases, this will not be required).

Passports and Visas: It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure that they are allowed to enter Japan. If necessary, Moving Boundaries will provide proof of enrollment to help students secure entry documents. Participants from many regions will not require a Visa to enter Japan, but each participant should verify the rules of entry well ahead of time. Everyone should also check the expiration date on their passport, well ahead of time. Refunds will not be given if the participant's passport expiration date does not allow them to make the trip to Japan.
REFUND POLICY

Last checked on January 5, 2026 (Refund Policy of MB has not changed since 2023)
Participants agree to pay a nonrefundable deposit to secure their reservation in the course. The amount of your deposit will be communicated by email, after you are admitted to the course. The remaining tuition must be paid in order to be fully enrolled in the course, and to receive access to a student assistant and to course resources. In case participants fail to pay the remaining tuition until the date communicated by email, we cannot guarantee that their reservation in the course will be preserved. If we do not hear from the participant, and if the remaining tuition is not received in time, the participant's name shall be moved to a "Wait List" from the "Enrollment List". The final deadline to submit tuition is in January (for Aug.Japan program) and in February (for Oct.Japan program) while the absolute final, extended deadline granted only in special circumstances, is on March 1, 2026.

To qualify for a student discount, students will be required to present proof of their full-time student status. The proof could be a picture of student ID or a letter from the University. Additionally, students will be required to send an email to movingboundaries2026@gmail.com from their University email account.

In case the 2026 course is cancelled, because of any emergency or other unforeseen circumstances, tuition will be carried over to the next program in 2026 or to another program the following year. Participants will have their reservation guaranteed for the next course in 2026 or 2027. However, the schedule of activities and lectures, and the makeup of the faculty, will be subject to change. We have never cancelled a course, and this would happen only in case of a true emergency.
Moving Boundaries staff ask all participants to be sure that they will attend the course, before submitting their deposit and tuition payments. Deposits and tuition are NOT refundable. In case a medical emergency arises before the start of the course, and in case the participant cannot secure a Visa in time, the option to transfer to the next MB course (without losing any funds) will be offered. Proof will be requested (of the medical emergency or Visa issue). All tuition money can be transferred to the next course, with no penalty, but only in case of a medical emergency or issues with the Visa.
