PhD, Consultant

I have a love for and curiosity regarding the interplay between the meaning of our living environment and how we shape it. For me, heritage and spatial quality are inextricably linked. I draw inspiration and new perspectives from the rapidly evolving collaboration between design disciplines and the neuro- and cognitive sciences. I studied Architecture and Philosophy and completed my PhD at Delft University of Technology. I have worked for the government and for more than 15 years as a researcher and lecturer at various universities in the Netherlands. I work on various projects: spatial design and cultural heritage, the transformation of built heritage, participation in heritage care, and changing heritage practices resulting from societal and scientific developments. Currently, I work as a senior consultant in cultural heritage and spatial quality at Arcadis, a global company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.
