Erica McLain

Designer, Founder

Neuro Designer Erica McLain is building the intelligence layer that will define how the world designs for human health.

As Founder and CEO of Living Luxury Lab, Inc. (L3), she is translating decades of neuroaesthetics research into a first-of-its-kind platform, haumIQ™, that uses computer vision and cognitive science to generate personalized Room Health Scores™ across eight neuroaesthetic dimensions. The science is unambiguous: built environments measurably affect brain function, with documented outcomes including 40-60% sleep quality improvement, 14-28% cortisol reduction, and 30% workplace productivity gains.

Erica's path to this work is unlike anyone else in the field. A U.S. Olympic Track & Field athlete (Beijing 2008), she built a career scaling products at Facebook and Google before becoming a certified neuroaesthetics practitioner and interior designer. She holds a BA from Stanford, an MBA from UC Berkeley, Interior Architecture studies at UCLA and brings nearly three decades of personal study in neuroscience to this mission.

She is also a recognized industry voice: ASID National Wellness Design Award winner, Designers Today "40 Under 40," Board of Directors member of the Dallas Builders Association, and Expert Consultant for House Beautiful.

What makes Erica rare is not just her credentials in isolation. It is the convergence of elite performance discipline, big-tech product scaling, and evidence-based design science. She has spent years studying the research; now she is commercializing it, making neuroaesthetics accessible, measurable, and investable at scale.

L3 is category-defining. So is its founder.
