Maria Chiara Monacelli

Maria Chiara Monacelli is an architect and the Founder & Creative Director of SENSORIAL. Her research focuses on the design of regenerative spaces and on the impact of architectural environments on perception, behavior, and psychophysical wellbeing. After graduating with honors in Architecture from Politecnico di Milano, she further explored the relationship between neuroscience and architectural design by earning a Master’s degree in Neuroscience Applied to Architectural Design from Iuav University of Venice and a second-level Master’s degree in Neuroaesthetics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. She is currently completing her education with a course in Wellness Architecture and Feng Shui at Scuola SpazioUmano.

She studied at international institutions including Berkeley, Yale, and the University of the Arts London. She is part of the founding team of ANFA Italy and has participated in and coordinated interdisciplinary projects integrating neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, and architecture, such as Moving Boundaries Italy.

Through SENSORIAL, a platform dedicated to architects, designers, and creatives, she develops experiences and environments that stimulate the senses and foster a deep connection between space, body, and identity through sensory materials.
