Teresa Enríquez Amo

I’m a Spanish interior designer, co-founder of COMAD Arquitectos and Director of Interior Design and Decoration at our Madrid-based studio.

I work on projects across Spain, particularly in Madrid, the Costa del Sol and the Balearic Islands. Our work is quite diverse, from new-build residential developments and the renovation of existing buildings to private homes, hotels, restaurants, offices and retail spaces.

We specialise in complete turnkey projects, so my involvement usually starts with the first ideas and continues all the way through to the finished space. I work across interior architecture, materials, lighting, furniture, decoration and art, approaching all of these elements as part of the same design.

I’m very hands-on and closely involved in every detail. Furniture is a particularly important part of my work: we design many of our own pieces, as well as bespoke joinery and custom-made elements specifically for each project.

My approach is very much about looking at a project as a whole — architecture, interiors, furniture, art and craftsmanship — and making sure everything works together. Each project is different, and that is precisely what keeps my work interesting.
