Paula A Serna

Based in Medellín, Colombia, Paula Serna is an architect and lighting designer whose work bridges the gap between technical precision and emotional resonance. As the founder of ESTUDIO DEDÓS, she has established a practice dedicated to "celebrating good architecture through light," a philosophy that shapes every project across the residential, hospitality, luxury retail, and wellness sectors.

Paula holds a degree in Architecture from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and a Master’s degree in Architectural Lighting Design from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona. This hybrid background allows her to approach design with a deep understanding of spatial volume, materiality, and human perception.

Under her leadership, ESTUDIO DEDÓS has developed a distinct design voice characterized by its commitment to wellbeing, sustainability, and sensory experience. Paula believes that light is not just a functional tool but an invisible guide that shapes human emotion and interaction within a space. Her approach is inherently human-centric, focusing on balancing natural and artificial rhythms to create conscious, transformative atmospheres.

Recognized for her contributions to the field, Paula’s work has been featured in leading international publications like arc magazine and honored at global awards platforms, including the LIT Lighting Design Awards and the Silhouette Awards, where she was selected as a Director in 2024.
