
Ana Karen Angulo
Architect and Psychologist

Ana Karen Angulo is an architect who graduated from ITESO University in Guadalajara, Mexico. She holds a Master's degree in Neuroscience Applied to Architectural Design from the IUAV University of Venice, Italy, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from IEU University in Puebla, Mexico.
In 2015, Ana founded AKA Architecture, a firm focused on integrating neuroscience into architectural practice. Through AKA, she leads two primary areas of work:
A design laboratory where she creates housing prototypes for different life stages—currently focusing on residential spaces for aging, addressing conditions such as dementia, visual decline, and mobility restrictions.
Large-scale projects in collaboration with mental health hospitals, where she develops architectural and interior design strategies to support emotional regulation, comfort, and well-being.
She recently founded the Neuroarchitecture Academy of Mexico (Academia de Neuroarquitectura de México), where she educates the next generation of architects in applying neuroscience and psychology to the built environment.
