Jane Abbott is a Partner and Co-Founder of Abbott Brown Architects, an architectural design practice based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Her work — both within the practice and in earlier collaborations — has received multiple provincial and national design awards, recognized for its clarity, material sensitivity, and civic impact.
She earned her Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University, graduating with both the NSAA Thesis Prize and the AIA Medal. Jane teaches at the Dalhousie School of Architecture and Planning and lectures widely on the role architecture can play in shaping haptic and embodied experience. Her academic engagement directly informs the practice, grounding projects in material exploration and spatial experience.
