Janet T. Marena, Principal and Founder of JTM Interiors, is an interior designer known for creating spaces people instantly say “feel good.” What sets her work apart is her ability to translate that feeling into something intentional — blending intuition with the science of biophilic and neurodesign.

At the core of her philosophy is a simple truth: we are nature, and nature is us. Drawing from biophilic and neurodesign principles, Janet integrates natural materials, light, and spatial flow to create interiors that support wellbeing, connection, and a sense of ease.

With a certification in Science in Design, she pairs her signature intuition with neuroscience and environmental psychology — transforming what many describe as “magic” into a thoughtful, repeatable design approach.

Her work lives at the intersection of sophistication and soul — spaces that feel luxurious, grounded, and deeply personal. Because when design aligns with who we are at our core, it doesn’t just look beautiful — it feels extraordinary.

Janet holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and has also studied Biology and Interior Design, providing a strong foundation for her evidence-based approach to design. Her early career in public relations and marketing included work with global clients such as Procter & Gamble, where she developed expertise in strategic communication and brand positioning.

She is a Past President of the California Peninsula Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and has founded and organized several multi-day events focused on wellbeing through the integration of science and design. Janet is certified in Science in Design and is completing her Biophilic Design Certificate through Habitarmonia, expected June 2026. Her firm has received nine ASID design awards, and its work has been featured in numerous publications
