Carina Rose
Architect, Movement Artist, Researcher
Montreal, Canada
Carina Rose is a practising architect, ecologist and movement artist based in Montréal, Canada. As a hands-on designer, she engages her clients in ecological alternatives and a collaborative creative process which challenges conventional approaches. She intersects this design and construction expertise with her professional training in dance and embodiment practices to create site-specific installations and performance artwork. Her interdisciplinary projects investigate the creative relationship between our body, the human-built, and natural ecosystems. She teaches applied and sustainable building methods in popular education programs, and facilitates movement workshops for architects and other disciplines. This past year she has presented at several conferences her current independent research on improvisational movement and somatic practices as instigators to reform design practice.
