Sayantan Das

Architect, Assistant Professor
Howrah, India

I am Sayantan (Santo); an architect, educator, and a part-time research scholar, working as an assistant professor in the SPA Vijayawada contractually. During my M. Arch. journey at CEPT University, I was involved in various studio projects through different lenses, such as Experience, Urban Realm, Ecological Sensitivity, Human-centric, Narrative, and Foundation which helped me a lot to identify the deeper mutual understanding between me and architecture as a design lifestyle. To make the fire on spark, recently I started my PhD journey to find the term 'value' defined by Prof. B. V. Doshi during a discussion on the definition of architecture at CEPT University. My research interest is the Cohesive Intimacy between Movement, Memory and Enclosure and the configurational dynamics in Architecture.

Apart from architecture, singing always gives me the sacred power to move. I like to work for protecting stray animals, taking care of trees, gardening, doing clay modelling, hitting the gym, cooking, solo travelling, and collecting incense sticks. I always enjoy spending time alone, being my own boss, and following my own rules.
