Alexander Cadisch is an author, speaker and researcher from the UK exploring how light shapes human health, emotion and perception.
Hist work sits at the intersection of neuroscience, neuroaesthetics, circadian biology, colour psychology, photobiomodulation and biophilic design. His first book, The Light Within Us, explored the relationship between light and wellbeing. His current research is developing a new framework around a simple idea: light as a nutrient for the indoor species.
By age 40, we spend around 37 years indoors, yet most buildings are designed around energy and visibility rather than biology and experience. His work explores how light, colour, contrast, texture and darkness influence health, cognition and emotion, and how we can create better habitats for the humans who now spend most of their lives inside them.
