We are excited to tell you about the fifth installment of the Moving Boundaries course, which will take place in Northern Portugal from March 22-30, 2025!

This is a very unique course and we have already accepted 40 participants. Unlike our previous events, this course will run for eight days, and it is meant for participants who may not have 2 weeks to devote to a full course, and who wish to receive access to groundbreaking knowledge and our wonderful MB community, in a shorter period of time in the intimate environment of the Pousada and Monastery in Amares, Portugal.

Lectures and Masterclasses, Workshops, Tours in the Minho Wine Region and Porto, Dinners, Film Screenings,  Poetry Readings, Morning Walks and Movement Exercise,  Stone Workshops, Special (surprise) Guests, Sketching, Networking. See rare built works by Alvaro Siza Vieira in the north of Portugal. Live together at the Pousada in Amares, Santa Maria do Bouro, 12th century monastery restored and designed by Pritzker-Prize winning architect, Eduardo Souto de Moura - and at Pousada Geres, 15 minutes away. Lectures, debates, and contributions of all attendees will be included in the publication MBX Forum with foreword by Juhani Pallasmaa. Stay tuned for announcements about special guests who will join us at the course and retreat. We are proud to welcome Dr.Raymond Neutra, Founder of the renowned Neutra Foundation, ANFA President and Architect Kurt Hunker, FAIA and many others.

Step 2. After you submit the Application Form (please apply no later than December 1), we will reply to you about the admissions decision, by mid-December.

TUITION*  (Note: Your deposit will be applied to your total tuition payment)  Tuition includes all academic activities and content, lectures, masterclasses, roundtable discussions, networking sessions and workshops, a day trip with tours in Porto and Minho Region, and access to a group discount code for lodging at the luxurious and peaceful Monastery - Pousada, with the community.

• Graduate Students:  $1,300  (there are limited number of spaces for graduate students) 

 
    * The fees are listed in US Dollars. The amount of payment submitted in other currency must be equivalent to US Dollars according to the applicant's host country Foreign Exchange Rate on the date of payment.
