George Heredia is an MD/MBA candidate in the Program in Medical Education Leadership and Advocacy (PRIME-LA) at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and an incoming Transformative Leader Fellow at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is pursuing a dual career in primary care and psychiatry. Prior to medical school, George led quality improvement and programmatic initiatives in population health and integrative care within Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), while contributing to research in primary care delivery, integrative medicine, and contemplative neuroscience.

His current scholarly work focuses on advancing mental health equity through community-based wellness interventions and examining how structural and policy factors shape healthcare access, delivery, and patient experiences among underserved populations. He is also interested in the built environment as a determinant of health, examining how healthcare design in FQHC settings influences patient well-being and perceptions of care, with the goal of advancing more equitable, patient-centered care environments. George currently serves on the Board of Directors of Family Health Matters Community Health Center, where he contributes to strategic governance, organizational leadership, and the advancement of community-responsive healthcare initiatives.

Beyond his academic and clinical work, George maintains an engagement with visual arts and photography, with his work receiving multiple recognitions from The Beat, the official art and literary magazine of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, as well as the UC PRIME Systemwide Conference Art Exhibition.
