Graziella Aguiar

Architect, Researcher, Writer, Speaker
São Paulo, Brazil

I am an architect, researcher, writer, and speaker specializing in neuroarchitecture and environmental adaptations for neurodivergent individuals, particularly autistic adults. I founded Sinestesia Assessoria em Arquitetura to develop strategies that create more functional, inclusive, and sensory responsive environments that promote autonomy and well being.
My work combines architecture, neuroscience, and lived experience. I am especially interested in understanding how the built environment can reduce sensory overload, support emotional regulation, and improve quality of life for neurodivergent people. This interest emerged from personal experiences that led me to closely observe the neurodivergent universe and envision a more accessible future.
My research has taken me to international conferences and collaborations, including presentations in Spain and Japan. My study, “Architecture for Minds That Take It All In: Environmental Adaptations for Autistic Adults Through Neuroarchitecture,” was selected for presentation at the ANFA Conference 2025.
In addition to my academic work, I teach courses and deliver lectures for professionals, families, and healthcare organizations, advocating for evidence based and human centered approaches to inclusive environmental design. I am passionate about translating scientific knowledge into practical solutions that can transform homes, educational settings, healthcare facilities, and public spaces.
At MB Japan, I look forward to exchanging ideas, learning from colleagues from different disciplines and cultures, and building international collaborations that advance more inclusive and supportive environments for neurodivergent people worldwide.
