Narges Farahnak Majd

Narges Farahnak Majd is a PhD candidate and sessional academic in the School of Architecture and Built Environment at Queensland University of Technology. Her doctoral research focuses on adolescents’ spatial experiences in circulation spaces of multistorey (vertical) schools.

She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in architecture and worked as a practicing architect for several years before starting her PhD. Her master’s research examined socio spatial attributes of mental health care environments that support the wellbeing of patients with schizophrenia.

Her broader research interests include design psychology, wellbeing and architecture, learning space design, design for mental health, aged care design, environment-behaviour studies and Salutogenic design. She is also interested in the application of phenomenology, cognitive science, and neuroscience to enhance human performance and experience in architectural and urban environments.
