Holding a degree and a PhD in Architecture, he is the author of As Sensações e as Emoções na Arquitectura (Sensations and Emotions in Architecture) and of numerous articles published in specialist journals, having also collaborated, by invitation, with newspapers, other publications and various organisations.
In 1996, he founded Panatelier – Pedro Araújo & Napoleão, Lda., a practice in which he has developed a solid and well-established professional career, with built work across Portugal and abroad, predominantly in the fields of residential and industrial architecture. His work has received notable recognition, with a project selected as a finalist for a national architecture award in 2023.
Throughout his career, he has consistently combined design practice, research and critical reflection, accumulating extensive experience in design, coordination and technical management. He has held positions of responsibility in construction companies, supervised professional internships, coordinated projects and public competitions by invitation, and served as technical director of a construction group in Paris.
His research activity is accompanied by an active international presence, expressed through study trips, direct engagement with landmark works of world architecture, and regular participation in national and international conferences and seminars.
He is a member of the Ordem dos Arquitetos (Portuguese Architects' Association), the ANFA – Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture, and Global Wellness Portugal. He has also served as a jury member for a National Architecture Award on behalf of the Portuguese Architects' Association.
