Valentina Fesenko

Architect, PhD Candidate
Budapest, Hungary

Valentina Fesenko is an architect, PhD/DLA candidate, and teaching assistant at the Department of Urban Planning and Design, Faculty of Architecture, Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Her research, Multisensory Experience of Public Spaces – Learning and Teaching a Shift in Architectural Focus, investigates how urban public spaces are experienced as embodied, multisensory, and relational environments rather than primarily as visual compositions.

Working at the intersection of architectural practice, research, and education, she explores how atmosphere, multisensory perception, and perceived safety emerge in public spaces, and how this experiential knowledge can inform architectural and urban design processes. Her approach frames design as a process of translation, where embodied perception, intuition, empathy, and contextual observation play central roles.

Valentina has 13 years of professional experience in architecture and regularly participates in architectural competitions, with prize-winning projects.
